It’s Blue Zones Restaurant Week in Fort Worth! Between Monday, February 24, and Sunday, March 1, select Blue Zones-inspired or approved dishes will be available at participating restaurants throughout Fort Worth.
For those that don’t know what Blue Zones is, it is a lifestyle and diet that stems from the areas of the world that have some of the oldest and healthiest people. For the most part, these people live on a plant-based diet, exercise regularly, are conscious of their drinking and sleeping patterns, and have good spiritual, family, and social networks. Teaching the people of Fort Worth this Blue Zones philosophy has been one of Mayor Betsy Price’s biggest initiatives throughout her time in office.
Blue Zones Restaurant Week allows restaurants to take part in educating their customers in the Blue Zones mantra. Participating this week are Branch & Bird, Black Cat Pizza, Thai Select, Juice Junkies, and many more.
To take part, simply go to one of the restaurants or cafés participating, and let your server know that you are there for Blue Zones Restaurant Week to ensure that you secure the special discount. All menu items on the Blue Zones list will use plant-based, non-processed ingredients.
It is also greatly encouraged to take photos of your food and tag Blue Zones on Instagram (@BZPFortWorth) and Facebook (@BlueZonesProjectFW) with the hashtag #BlueZonesRestaurantWeek. Tags and hashtags enter you into the drawing for a restaurant gift card or a copy of Dan Buettner’s new book, “The Blue Zones Kitchen.” The Blue Zones Project will be randomly selecting two winners each day.
